Stronger With Each Other
I will be having a photo exhibit at the Iberia Parish Library April 15 - May 12, 2009, with an artist reception on Wednesday, April 15 from 6 pm to 8 pm, at the Main Library in New Iberia, 445 E. Main St. There will be about 70-80 prints from digital photographs taken in various places around the U.S. and Canada, all taken this decade. Here is a look at the promotional poster for the exhibit (and you can also download this as a PDF by clicking here).

Most of the photos in the exhibit are found here on Poor Clio; here is the one used on the poster.

As we created prints, mounted them, arranged them, etc. for the exhibit, I was amazed at how different it was to see them as physical objects as opposed to only as digital renderings on a computer screen. I had forgotten how much I like... pictures.

Hope to see you at the opening, you're invited!

On the Melville Ferry
On the Melville Ferry
A small ferry crosses the Atchafalaya River at Melville, LA. The locale is so remote that for five miles or so east of the ferry crossing La. 10 is unpaved.

Stirring music
Stirring music
Two people, four ears, two ear buds, one iPod: Delaware school girls Rebecca Ogus and Angel Genares share music as they stir the pot at the "gumbo camp" we hosted for them to learn to make Louisiana's staple stew. Their gumbo turned out mighty delicious!
