Yummy!
I like to sneak potato chips into a tuna fish sandwich. I have been told that this is juvenile as well as insalubrious, but that has not stopped me. The Wikipedia, in its article that includes a "recipe" for potato chips on a tuna sandwich, suggests, "Everything here described can be done also with either Doritos or Cheetos or a combination of all the three for maximum flavour experience."

Prototype prototype
Today I sent around to the folks who marshall volunteers for my client Performing Arts Society of Acadiana (PASA) a proof-of-concept demo of a volunteer lister that narrows the list by selected times of availability, areas of interest, and skills.

For those interested in programming, and particularly Web 2.0 / AJAX programming, I started this project in Spry, gave it a poke in Flex , both of which interest me greatly, but quickly moved to the Prototype framework, largely because of Prototype's form.observer class, although the fact that the Prototype Ajax Updater lets you bring in whole chunks of formatted HTML was a plus. I have another project I will likely use Spry on next week (Spry is a great choice for projects that will draw on stored datasets), and soon will be making lots of custom backends with Flex!

For those who have little or no interest in programming, you can try the volunteer listing form anyway, and just have fun checking the boxes!

Pick me!
You know that little business sometimes on a web site when before you can go any further you have to say what some smeary word is, like "begotten", etc., so they'll know it's a human and not some auto-robot just sucking up their data? That's called "Captcha." Well, here is one that uses something that really takes a person and not a machine to understand.

My sister Laura sends a link to a site for Morgus the Magnificent, who was one of my primary cultural heroes as I watched him on a snowy black and white television screen on Saturday nights in the 1960s. For a staggeringly replete list of TV horror movie hosts, look here.
